The Me I Want to Be is a famous book written by John Ortberg. The book indicates the training of a mind as per the guidance of the God and the steps that should be followed in order to live according to the methods taught by the God. The book also has four set of DVDs’ which can help in grooming body and mind according to the religious beliefs and practice them in daily life. Being humans, we face the most difficult task as to choose the path of right and wrong, this book helps us in training our mind in such a manner that everything becomes clear after reading and listening to the sessions of the book and building habits which are liked by the God in our personality. The book clearly states the orders of the God and his will; thus, the reader becomes more God fearing and tries to act upon the teachings of God in order to attain a happy life as per the standards of religion and God’s teachings. The book suggests that the perfect vision of God starts with a promise. As mentioned below:

All those who trust in God “will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

The writer urges the reader to understand the true presence of God. Importance of God in guidance and directions of God to live a better life. The writer wants to lessen the gap between where the person is right now and where he wants to be. The reader proposes a set of exercises and task in order to achieve the best in order to live your life according to the God’s teachings. To overcome pain, sorrow and all other worldly needs and realize the inner yourself in order to understand God. God invites his creation to enjoy a happy life while staying on the path he mentioned for the success in world as well as in heavens.

Implication of Religious Beliefs and Practicing Religious Teachings in My Own life:

Following God’s Teachings is not a difficult path but there is a need of perfect person who can mold your lifestyle according to the teachings of God. That person can be your teacher or the parents. The religious figures and their preaching videos and live seminars can also help in inducing religious reforms in a person’s life. The essay suggests that I must mention my 60 days plan to adopt a lifestyle according to God’s Teachings and should observe the rules and regulations as taught by the religion in everyday tasks. I must mention that my mentor in my journey is my teacher who guided me on every step. Her presence is a source of guidance for us because she is very much God fearing and her life seems to be a perfect example of how God taught us to live. She keeps on teaching me the basics of religion and their implementation to achieve a better life and succeed on every ground. The basic characteristic which should be induced before starting the practice to live religiously is to feel the presence of God around us and to understand the fact that God loves his creation more than anything else. God is in our heart and he knows everything we think or do. This strategy induces that God is watching us all the time and by doing this I must refrain from all the bad things and the sins due to the fear of God and will do good deeds and help everyone as to please him. Initially, I will start with small virtues and after a period of month I would start attending lectures regarding religion. The basic work of other religious scholars on the teachings of God will also be concerned wherever the confusion is felt. Slowly and gradually I will start to attend the prayers and will act upon the teachings of the father in order to maintain a balanced life. By the end of fourth month I would be attending religious seminars and will play an active role in these seminars to learn from them and to listen different scholars to enhance my knowledge about the religion.
